SaskGalleries (the Saskatchewan Professional Art Galleries Association) is a not-for-profit, member-based organization that represents Saskatchewan commercial art galleries who sell the art of local, national, and international artists, including more than 600 Saskatchewan artists.

our mandate:
an association to promote, develop and encourage the growth of Saskatchewan professional commercial art galleries who exhibit and sell original works of art.

When a customer visits a SaskGalleries member gallery, they know that they are dealing with a commercial gallery that:

  • Represents professional artists whose art practice is their full-time job;

  • Pays the artists properly based on standard payment principles;

  • Prices the art fairly and in-line with national standards;

  • Is knowledgeable about the art and artists they carry; and

  • Is an established business.

SaskGalleries’ programming is focused on our strategic direction and is directly aligned with our goals of promotion, development, and encouragement of our member galleries.

Our Members

Our member galleries fall into two categories:

  • Full members are professional commercial art galleries in Saskatchewan.

  • Associate members are emerging commercial art galleries, artist collectives, businesses and organizations, or Fine Art and Fine Craft retails in Saskatchewan.

Affiliate memberships are available to all individuals and institutions that contribute to the success of the commercial art market in Saskatchewan. Finally, Honourary members are those who have made significant past contributions to the development of SaskGalleries.

If you’re a Saskatchewan commercial art gallery or member of the fine art industry in Saskatchewan, consider becoming a SaskGalleries member. Please review our membership categories and guidelines and then contact us. To meet the SaskGalleries member galleries, go here.

SaskGalleries was created as a not-for-profit, member-based organization and incorporated in 2000 as the result of a request from the Saskatchewan provincial government. The request came as part of an initiative to enhance and build the key cultural/creative industries in Saskatchewan. SaskGalleries' members represent approximately 600 Saskatchewan artists in addition to other Canadian artists. Many professional artists rely on SaskGalleries’ members for a strong portion of their income.

SaskGalleries is a recognized Creative Industry organization in Saskatchewan and is proudly funded by Creative Saskatchewan. Our association represents the established commercial art galleries in Saskatchewan that follow a common set of ethical standards and practices.

SaskGalleries celebrated our 20th anniversary in 2020.
